AllerAir 5000 Series DS Air Purifier *part 5

AllerAir 5000 Series DS Air Purifier Our most popular general purpose air purifier, this unit treats all the various types of pollutants which contribute to poor indoor air quality. It features 18 lbs. of activated carbon to adsorb chemicals, gases and odors and a medical-grade HEPA filter to remove 99.97% of all airborne particles down to 0.3 microns. The Allerair 5000 DS air purifier features a state-of-the-art tar-trapping pre-filter that grabs larger particles and tar, extending the life of the HEPA filter and carbon filter. Thepurifier also features a micro-wrap filter that destroys small particles as tiny as fine cigarette ash, and a 3 extra-deep, 22 lb carbon filter which increases dwell time, causing more chemicals, gases and odors to be absorbed. An even deeper, 3.5/28 lb carbon filter is available with the DXS model. This is the only proven to work method of adsorbing substances that result from tobacco smoke in a closed environment and linger around even when active smoking has ceased. Air Flow and Your AllerAir Air Purifier: We've noticed over the years that clients are very particular when it comes to using their AllerAir unit. Some like to run it 24/7, others only at night, some like to run it on high for a few hours then leave it on low for the rest of the day. So is there a science to choosing your air flow rate? We took this question to our technical department and here's what we learned: Particles: Technically speaking, dust, pollen, hair and other airborne particles actually respond well to a higher setting. That's because the air is drawn-in at a faster rate which make the particles "smack" into the fibrous web of the HEPA filter with greater force. This increases the chance that they'll get stuck in the HEPA.
